Using a general purpose fertiliser in a garden in Feb: Good idea? Recommended brand?

  • We have badgers nearby but they only made themselves known in the garden in autumn 2018, digging holes in the lawn, making latrines etc. It was all a real mess, but they didn't come back last year. I have a big tub of chicken pellets that I keep forgetting to use. I'm now wondering if I used it that year and the badgers smelled it. I'm sure I never got round to using it last year, and now am thinking of giving it away just in case!

The things you learn on here.... 😯
No longer newish but can't think of a new name so will remain forever newish.  B)

We also have cats and foxes around us ... I use FB&B all over the garden with no problems at all.

Hmmm this is what twists my melon about gardening, I wish it was more black and white! :s

    Thanks for the info!

  • So much of gardening is about experience ... finding out what works for your particular plants in your particular garden ... a bit like fishing ... unless you know your river and the fish in it, anything you catch will be just pure luck.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
