Lilies refused to go to sleep this winter!

Hi, I lifted all my lilies early November so I could have a major overhaul of one of my beds. I put them all to bed in a cold greenhouse in dry (ish) compost in trays - about 2" soil underneath and 1" on top. I checked on them yesterday and they've sprung into life and have about 6" of spindly growth - all 30 odd of them (which is why I didn't pot them up properly - not enough space). I know if I bring them in to the light they'll green/firm up but ..... can I now go out and put them back in the garden much deeper (so most of the stem will be covered) or will they just rot. I have my new bulb catalogue next to me which is screaming for me to just replace them. Decisions, decisions.....
