Fish blood and bone

Anyone added a bit of fish blood and bone mixed in potting compost when planting seeds in pots and if you did were the results better or just the same.

    Seeds don’t need fertiliser in the early stages ... a low nutrition seed compost is all that’s required.  

    Also, Fish, Blood & Bone is a ‘slow release’ fertiliser, providing nutrition  to plants for a whole season, so the seedlings will have been potted on and planted out before they’ve used it. 

    Trust me, if the compost manufacturers thought they could make money by adding fertiliser to seed compost and charging more for it, they’d have done it years ago 😆
