    More info needed - where found, how big, what colour head, what kind of legs etc.
    Or a picture of course.

    Is this in a container or the open soil?  Whatever they are I imagine the birds will take most of them if they’re in the garden.

    They’re just one sort of the many many wild creatures that live in a healthy active soil ... some are big enough to see, most aren’t. I would dig the surface of the soil over and give the hungry robins and blackbirds a free lunch ... and enjoy watching nature in action 😊
