Use an old table fork or a pencil or similar to lift out wee clumps of those teeny seedlings and pot them on into small pots in fresh compost as they will be needing nutrients as well as water to grow well. If you can, keep them indoors in their cool, light position for another month or so.
Water them from below if possible. Check the bottom of their new pots for signs of roots which indicates they need potting on or planting out.
Before planting outside, harden them off by placing outside in a sunny, sheltered spot. If snow or heavy frosts are forecast bring them in at night till the weather improves. When you do plant them, make sure they are watered before and after planting and that their new home is free of visible weeds.
When they do flower, let them self seed or else scatter the seeds where you want more foxgloves and they'll look after themselves.

Hi everyone, just seen this. Sorry I posted the question! Mine are a good 3 times bigger. I did put them out but they seemed to suffer a little on a chilly night (I forgot they were out there! ), so I'll be keeping them in for another month or so as Obelixx recommended. Mine are already in small pots but I'll keep checking for roots at the base. Thanks all of the advice, really helpful as always
