Its been rianing for days so the holes I have dug in the front garden are full of water so I am watering them in the pots in the conservatory which is not ideal

Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.
I'd second Osmanthus burkwoodii. I have it in a shady border - it gets virtually no sun until summer, and then only in late afternoon. Mahonias will grow anywhere, as will Berberis and Pyracantha, despite the experts saying otherwise. I had a pyracantha in a previous garden, near the front door. It had no sun at all. Covered in berries every year, and the blackbirds loved standing on the steps eating them. I have Potentillas in almost full shade too, and white Spirea argutas. Eleagnus doesn't mind plenty of shade too. Fatsia if you have room and like architectural shrubs.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I can vouch for Pyracantha too. My neighbour has one by their front door which gets no sun ever yet it grows well and is smothered in berries every year.
