    Many thanks for information. They are in what I refer to as a 'hot border'. An old stone wall shelters the bed which is well drained and south facing. I will feed them, pelleted chicken manure OK?

    Yes, but, if you have it, tomato food as that is higher in nutrients for flower production.   Pelleted manure is more evenly balanced for general health but a liquid feed of tomato fertiliser will give an extra tonic.

  • My flowers are now starting to fade.  What's the best thing to do here?

    Leave them and allow seed to develop or remove the flower heads?

    That's OK @Loraine3.   I hope they do well for you and come back big and strong next year.

    @Cottage Compost I would remove the flowers once over and then feed the bulbs to help them strengthen and store energy for next year's show of flowers.  However, if you want to try saving seed and seeing what you get then just give them extra care and feed until their foliage dies back.

  • Thank you, i think i'll remove the flowers when all have done.  I'll give them a feed.
