Well I went a bit mad this morning with Peter Nyssen and ordered:

    5 x Mexican star
    3 x Night Butterfly
    1 x Rip City
    1 x Dracula
    1 x Obsidian
Plus 3 x Happy Single Date (orange)

    Far too tempting, that company!

Looks a good one, @Hostafan1, nothing like a big fat turber  :)

Received my extravagantly large order of 13 dahlias from Peter Nyssen today of which 9 are dark dahlias. All big and fat and all now planted up. I’m looking forward to seeing them all in bloom this summer, but particularly the Mexican Stars...

    Bishop’s Desire is lovely.
    A sort of dark magenta.
An accidental cross between Bishop of Llandaff crossed with another dahlia whose name I forget.
Here is mine from last year, just out into the ground.
