Scarified again today and have prepared the new areas for seeding. I've removed the sticking out bed on the left and divided the bed on the right into 2.
So exciting. Blank canvas. Have fun. Most plants are tolerant and adapt well. They will also move. If a plant is not giving you pleasure after a couple of years give it away.
What I really like about this thread is your vision for how it will look in the future. So many of my customers fill the beds after watching instant garden style programs, with no consideration to how the plants will grow or the spacing they will need. You obviously are enjoying the journey instead of racing to the end.... Real gardeners know there is no end... its never finished! 😀
It's almost been 4 weeks since I scarified and seeded using A1 premiership pro seed. It's filled out nicely. There are a few areas that I'll need to add some more seed, but overall I'm pretty happy so far, shame about the patches of Poa annua, but it is what is it...may dig it out if I have the time, energy or if it bugs me enough.! Lawn had its first cut with a rotary mower a couple of days ago.
I have bought a Webb push cylinder mower...looking forward to trying it out in a few days and getting some stripes back.. It should also be easier to manoeuvre around my awkward shaped lawn as its quite small compared to my rotary.

I notice the wooden scaffold thing next door is still where it was last summer.
I'm going seed and topdress tomorrow

I love the sound of an old fashioned lawnmower, takes me right back to my childhood
