  • Any experience of Mr Lincoln? It’s says it’s one of the best reds.

I haven't grown that one... I know it's very popular in the U.S as you would expect with that name...  as I correspond with a number of American rosarians, I've generally heard good reports about it from them, but no idea how it does in this country..   please give it a try and let us know how you get on... ?

@Robmarston I have a Lincoln, planted last year and is getting along okay. It smells divine, goes to a deep red-black and it grew to about about 4 feetHowever it didn’t repeat very well. May be its first year silk? Time will tell.

I grew Mr Lincoln many years ago with a very similar experience to Alchemist.  The drawback was slow to repeat, but wonderful scent and huge blooms.
  • Well I went to the garden centre yesterday to just have a look. I spent £80......😲. Among my purchases was Rosa deep secret. I couldn’t resist 😳. I still need another 4 I imagine. Any recommendations for whites? I know Iceberg is supposed to be the best for colour - any others people
    like?
  • So. I’ve been shopping. I bought iceberg, silver anniversary, thinking of you and ruby wedding. Any experience of theses? Are they good choices?

Iceberg definitely !  I bought Ruby Wedding last year,  so it's a bit early to say, but it was flowering pretty well. I have a feeling there may be 2 Rose's called "Ruby Wedding",  @Marlorena may know for sure.
  • Is it a good ‘ruby’ red?

I have been having a look through my photos to see if l can find one of it in situ, but no luck so far.
From memory l would describe it as a more reddish ruby than a dark ruby, if that makes any sense at all .  :)

@Malorena. So I got velvet fragrance finally. Haven’t planted it out yet, but here’s a picture. The fragrance is gorgeous and it’s not even open yet. Now thinking of getting Pascali. Do you know anything about it? It sounds a perfect accompaniment for velvet fragrance.
