  • I have just read this thread from start to finish. It seemed very unprofessional that a senior member of this forum who's comments appear to be published in bold takes offense to people who offer different views to his/her own on the OP's initial question. The other members were only giving their opinnions and this in turn led to Pansyface almost suggesting they were encouraging gambling and helping the super rich, it just appeared a very over the top reaction.
  • Wherever you buy your fruit trees from. If you have  any problems with them, please complain to that supplier, and not to the nearest Garden Centre or Nursery if the tree wasn't purchased there. It happens all too often - I speak from experience.

I have a Belle de boskoop' cooking apple, a Dutch variety. It's a lovely strong healthy variety. I also bought a dwarf Cox's orange pippin as a pollinator partner. The cox's is a nightmare for disease and woolley aphids. I did some research and found that they are known for this. Thankfully the cooker didn't succumb. Cox's are a lovely eating apple but I wouldn't buy another as its a lot of work and having an Eagle eye to keep it healthy.

  • What was the point of resurrecting a thread from January? We all have better things to do that going back and policing other people's answers. It was done then...let it be.
