Adding fruit to a square foot garden.....

We are moving to a new home and I have space for a garden and would like to add some fruit- small dwarf tree, blueberry bushes, and/or raspberries. The garden will be 32X32 with raised beds for veg and herbs. The perimeter is undecided. I'd like to fit in some fruit- thoughts??  THANK YOU!

  • Lots of ideas for growing fruit in a small space in Creative Vegetable Gardening by Joy Larkom. If you have a perimeter wall or fence you can train lots of fruit trees against that.
  • I've got 3 orchard fruits on dwarf rooting stock in large tubs-apple pear and plum. I have dedicated one of my raised beds to fruit. Put Blackcurrant Ben Sarek and Hikkoman Red Gooseberry at back to be fan trained along wires. In the middle Raspberry Ruby Red which is designed for container growth and a line of strawberry at the front. My bed is 4x2 feet. First year so no results yet.
