    That’s my first thought too ... but a clearer pic would be good 😊 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Fantastic, thank you! As long as it’s not Japanese Knotweed!  Which, from the little I know has quite different characteristics? 

    Is Leycesteria Formosa and nice one to keep?

    It's nice if you keep an eye on it. It can get bigger and bigger and become a beast, but kept under control and pruned to remove old wood , it's  fine plant. It seeds about so watch for babies.
