Yukon Gold Potatoes
in Fruit & veg
I have been growing 'Rudolph' potatoes as a main crop for the last 2 seasons. This year however my potatoes developed wireworm infestation which affected 50% of the crop.
Ii am considering changing to 'Yukon Gold'. Are they a main crop?
Will they store ok in sacks for a few months after harvest do you think?
How do I reduce the wireworm problem?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks

I've been hearing very good things of Setanta this year ... good disease and slug resistance although I don't know about wireworm attack.
When (in days of yore) we had wireworm in the veg patch we turned the chickens on there ... they love them and always cleared the ground of wireworms and keel slugs.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Some sites say early others main crop.
Can you store them for any length of time ?
Thought I might try them because they're supposed to have a nice flavour.
Any other comments?
