Seaweed

Read somewhere that seaweed is good to control slugs , but does the salt in it not harm the soil.

    Seaweed is full of minerals and doesn’t contain salt (I use it instead of salt!).  And seawater is only about 3% salt.  If you plan to collect your own seaweed then look up good practice so you don’t harm the foreshore.

    Not sure about the slugs being deterred. We collected seaweed for the asparagus patch and Put it on top to compost down. 
    Its a good job we did as there were a load of plastic line, netting and bits when it did. Wear good strong gloves to pick it up. Valerie
