Help identifying this shrub please?




Newbie here and I'd appreciate some advice. Can anyone tell me what this shrub is please? It has red leaves and berries over winter. The birds seem to love it. I can't figure out what it is and I also need to know how to prune it when the time is right.

    It's a cotoneaster. You can prune them any time really, but it can be difficult choosing as they have good flowers for pollinators in spring, followed by the berries.
    I usually do it in late spring/early summer after flowering, as we have plenty of berrying shrubs around.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
