    And this is the Chinese version of the same coleus. Nothing like the real thing.

    That's quite similar to Coleus Chocolate Covered Cherry I grow often

    I've never seen a coleus with any blue in it, except the flowers

    That’s a lovely one Pete, I’ve never seen one with blue or purple either. I particularly like the leaf formation on the Black Dragon. My mum used to grow lots of them to sell.

    I do like the ones with red , first time I planted one this year, and plan to put some in next year too, nice one @Pete.8.🙂

    As a kid it was coleus that set me on the road to gardening.
    I could buy a packet of seed for 6d then sell the plants to neighbours for 1 shilling each! - easy pocket money


    I find them quite easy from seed and they do add a splash of colour for the whole season.

    My mum the same, Pete, also grew loads of cocks comb, is it celosia ?

    It was also one of the first plants I grew as a child ... taking cuttings and making more plants for friends was like magic 😊 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    I've got some on the go myself at the moment, bought a packet of seeds from Wilko's and have been growing them since spring. I intend to put shelving on a bit of East facing wall and use coleus to add some colour when the weather warms.
