What an amazing story that is PF. It would be lovely if some local historian was able to get stories like that written down and archived. I hope she has an inside toilet now.

    Evening everyone🙂

That’s a lovely story Pansy. Not going to make too much of the power of prayer but maybe it worked that time! Never been to Foolow but it sounds a rather nice place. Have been to Eyam where you went the other day and that’s a lovely village.

LB - that’s a beautiful, very traditional and festive tree - hope Lily doesn’t decide to climb it.

Ante - brrr - your pictures made me feel cold. We have some ice warnings for parts of the UK tonight but not here.Forecast to be clear and sunny so I may cut some seasonal greenery.

Curtains are up and hemmed with pins. Might do some dekkies tomorrow - it’s about time now.

Evening T'Bird. Its good to hear that the curtains are up. Is it holly and ivy you are after tomorrow? My friend who comes up from Crewe for the pub quiz asked me to save some of the branches I sheared off the Leylandii so I retrieved some from the green bin before it was emptied on Thursday and they are standing in a bucket of water in the garage.
p.s. its in Hampshire T'Bird - meant to say earlier.

    Interesting social history Pansy.
Well done LB on lovely tree.
Ante, hope you don't get too much snow although it's beautiful to look at.
Well done with the curtains T'bird.

It's quite stormy here again.  Bring back the frosty, sunny days.

The greenery is anything which is green in the garden LB! So eleagnus, prunus, conifer, vib.tinus, euonymous etc etc.

Usually have a few bunches of crab apples as well but the pigeons were busy a few weeks ago and the blackbirds moved in after them - so not much left for decorating. They’re very young, small trees but the other day there were 8 blackbirds on one all at the same time. All busy pecking and feasting - lovely to see.

Watching Rod Stewart on BBC 2 tonigh. Very entertaining.

Joyce - hope the weather improves for you. Have you got an ice warning tonight?

Strong winds and sleet showers forecast T'bird.  Icy inland though so may need to put off visit to uncle in case the back roads  aren't gritted.

Brrr - electric blanket on for you Joyce (and maybe a wee dram to help you sleep😉)

Take care if you do go out tomorrow.

    You too LB.

Hope SGL is starting to feel a little better and Chive is looking forward to the last day of term.

Off to bed now - nighty night.😴
