Please do not leave for those reasons M-U. I cannot join in politics discussions because I know NOTHING about politics. All I do know is that in my view all politicians are shysters and I don't trust anyone of them. I don't waste my vote but I don't fret about people who can't even be bothered to vote. We get what the populace select so we just have to live with it - like it or lump it. That is democracy for you. In Australia it is compulsory for all eligible citizens to vote, perhaps they should bring that in here.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning - I’ve never heard of Longmoor LB. Quick Google suggests it’s in Hampshire. Or Longmoor Lake in Surrey perhaps?
Looks like a cold but lovely sunny start out there. You’re right LB - many shops will be busy today. Smuggy McSmugface here has done all her present shopping (do very little really!) and SM stuff is being done at off-peak times only for the next couple of weeks.
More curtain stuff today. After a major rearrangement of sitting room furniture yesterday, I managed to make a space just big enough to lay the material out properly and things have moved have moved on apace since then. Just about done apart from hemming. I’ll pin them up for now and leave that bit till the NewYear. Have taken over 3 rooms - sitting room for laying-out / pinning, dining room to use the bigger table as a big ironing board and the kitchen is where the sewing machine is set up.
What a palaver - somebody stop me if I talk about doing it again - PLEASE!
OH has just left for S’burys to collect an ebay order from the Argos point. I managed to stifle the request to buy a tub of Cadb*ry’s Heroes. Will be nice to have sweeties out for Christmas and visitors but if I get them before the 23rd I’ll have to buy 2 tubs.....🤭
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Morning all. MU we can't ignore a situation where people are hungry and more deaths and are suffering hard times and anyone who has an accident, becomes seriously ill or is made redundant who doesn't have a nest egg. Also just because the govt has up'd the retirement age to 66 doesn't mean employers will keep you on and also their intentions in 2035 to up the age to 75. Also the present govt only put 1% into the NHS where other govt put in 6% and the excessive privatisation and the services it provides are to be diminished or simply not available. Its a wet and windy day today. Chive I went for a lay down at 6.40pm and didn't wake up until 8am. I was pooped. I'm ready for another cup of tea. Runny lovely cushion.
