An idea for someone with time to spare......build a mini ark with mini people and mini animals.....

Compost bin and three recycling bins have all been dealt with. Why does one person have so much stuff to get rid off?  One bin to put out for collection then it's time to put my feet up.

    Good evening to all.

LB maybe I can also use a bit your ark. MU and I can share it.

Weather is awful, thick fog and heavy rain. Despite everything I went to my cottage and try to harvest turnip. I done just a half and gave up, my and my dog were soaked wet. I'll not bother you with photos yet, maybe just one.

SGL, I'm so happy about your OH control yesterday. Wish him a very Happy Birthday.

MU I hope that all will be ok with water level. We will have first snow in the hills at sunday.

Hello again all. Lants I'm with you. Why does one ignorant individual have to ruin things. Many riders are very polite and realise that their heavy horses can have a destructive effect on sodden ground and would probably just walk their horses across it to avoid creating a bog. Unfortunately as with any cross section of humanity you get the tiny percentage of aberrants that give a bad name to all the rest.
Ante, those Hellebores are just divine! I'm sure M-U would share the ark with you.
Joyce, my green (garden and food waste) and blue (paper and cardboard) bins were emptied today. I wonder how the surprise for SGL's OH went today.

I just received my postal voting papers today. I looked down the list and was sorry to see that there wasn't a candidate standing for THE MONSTER RAVING LOONY PARTY! Hang on a minute though.....................................

LB, got my postal voting paper yesterday.  Town was featured on BBC news last night as it will be a tight two horse race.  As for Monster Raving Lunatics......there are a few of them around.

Pristine hellebore Ante.  I hope your weather improves for harvesting your turnips.

Yes indeed Ante. It sounds very grim where you are and it won't be pleasant digging turnips out of sticky, muddy soil.

Evening. Just back from Peterborough. OH went to do some karting 'stuff' with his mate while I mooched around the shops and went to the little museum to see an exhibition about the various hoards found around the country. Quite a lot of stuff on loan from the British and other museums so saw a lot of gold torques and old coins. Small display but interesting.

Didn't buy much except some perfume for me and a little something for OH. OH's mate has a fish and chip shop in town so we we had lunch there - very nice🙂
Weather turned very unpleasant later on - mist and rain. Came home the back way - the fenland fields are quagmires. Poor farmers.

Lily - hope your OH has really enjoyed his birthday with the family🎂🍾🙂

MU - glad the puss cat is ok. Fingers crossed for you with that river.

LB - Hope you feel better soon. I'm still doing a bit of coughing. Nowhere near as bad as it was - but it's hanging on...🤨

Ante - we have a General Election coming up. Most people go to their local Polling station to cast their vote. If you either can't or don't want to go to your local Polling station you can apply for a Postal Vote. You receive a voting slip through the post and send it back by post.

OH has always had a postal vote because of his job - he was often away on election days. I applied for one for this election because I thought we might be away in Yorkshire on 12th Dec (Election Day).

Thanks for explanation T'bird. I knew that you have General election soon but we have different voting system for people who can't come on polling station.
Those people must apply in council chamber by telephone or net, and on election day committee, made off three people, come to house.
