Oh heck, this thread just made me google daylilies and I found a site in the UK called Swallowtaildaylilies.com. I am now drooling and totally frustrated because I can't find any of these beauties around here. How I envy you in the UK that you have such a huge choice of named plants that you can buy.

  • I love and have grown day lillies for many a year, but this year I have had so few flowers on some, and no flowers on others. There are none of the grubs CK talked about, I watched the programme as usual, but nothing she presented helped me to figure out the problem-i have done nothing different, they get fed, watered (and lovedimage) just the same as other years, so have been putting it down to the strange weather conditions-my tradscantias on the other hand have done really well, so I am quite baffled-any advise please??

And next year we can blame this year's excessive heat!  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Lesley firstly welcome

Sorry if your first impression of the forum. It really is very friendly. Everyone is able to have an opinion. We all have different likes and dislikes as is shown by our different gardens- I cram in as much different colours in a very small garden- my sister has a much much larger garden and only has mauve- all very pale and a few white things. Totally personal opion as to which you prefer.

Please please don't be put off. Prehaps you could share some pics of your daylilies

  • Yes, all have been divided at the right time etc. etc. so that is why I have been so disappointed - however I am never shocked or put off at what my garden does or doesn't do- I think nature is wonderful and sometimes no matter how we try to manipulate it - nature does win out. So heres' looking forward to nexy year.image
