Acer
in Plants
I have a self set Acer. It's about 5 years old and never grown more than 6 inches. Does anyone know if it will progress?

Is it in a pot?
It should grow far more than 6" in 5 years.
Are you sure it is an Acer.
Can you post a pic?
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

First post....A year old and 6" tall is one thing.
2nd Post.....Now 5 years old and 6" tall......that is weird.
Confused!
It may have had a shock when you dug it up.
Buds look perfectly OK.
Looks fine for 1 year old.
Next year it should put on more growth.
If 5 years old...then not a clue why it is so slow.
Just use a soil based compost, or garden soil if it's suitable, and keep it off the ground so that it can drain off excess water, and in a bit of shade.
That pot is big enough for an acer of 6 or 7 years old at least.
How old is it? I could never quite make out from the posts.
