All RHS shows and schools events are cancelled until June 30th. Access to gardens is to be restricted to open air only so greenhouses, cafées etc closed.
In France all shops are closed except pharmacies, banks and food shops such as bakers, butchers, grocers and supermarkets. Schools have been closed as well as bars, cafées, restaurants and we are all expected to stay at home. If we do go out we have to be alone and to have a signed affidavit to say we are going to work, going shopping for essentials, shopping for someone else in need or walking our dogs close to home.
The mayors along our regional coastline have banned access to beaches, dunes, forests, public paths and promenades in a bid to stop people going for walks in groups or even pairs which some were still doing.
It's inconvenient but necessary. Those of us lucky enough to have gardens will, I think, fare better than those in apartments.

@Obelixx - are there restrictions on visiting relatives in their own homes?
My father-in-law is gravely ill 200 miles away and OH has been visiting regularly and wants to continue to visit and support his mother over the next few weeks. We don't want him to be stranded down here but we also don't want for the 2 of us to be separated for (possibly) several weeks.
Just wondering what the French restrictions are for people driving long distances in their own vehicles in case similar measures are introduced here. With families split all over the country there could be quite a few people in a similar situation to us.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I believe he could travel there assuming he had his attestation but he would then have to stay for the duration. No flitting back and forth. I don't see why it would be any different in the UK when they move to the next level. Note that the UK government is putting thousands of soldiers on standby so I assume they're planning population control.

We have no resteraunts bars gyms churches or any gatherings open. Even grocery and pharmacies are only allowed to have a small number of people in at a time. People are already being sacked. The economic impact is huge

We have had a terrible flu season here this year. I had a friend of 20yr die of the flu 2weeks ago. I attended her funeral and the next day my gardening friend die of cancer. She loved flowers. At her funeral she asked people to plant this card of flowers in her memory.
