I have the embarrassment of meeting all and sundry after I've been gardening in the local school garden I look after just along the road. I walk there looking reasonably presentable but dressed for gardening but come home looking like a scarecrow! At least I'm pushing my garden cart laden with tools so neighbours can see what I've been doing.
Our front garden is on the route most local children walk to and from school so if I’m doing something interesting out there I usually get some expressions of interest ... they’re also pretty keen on the bird feeders and the occasional displays of flying ants. If I was to fall and lie sprawled in the flowerbeds I’m sure I could summon a squad of well meaning nine year olds to rescue me 😀
