Spring bulbs for wedding

Hi Everyone
I’m planning to plant some pots of spring bulbs that I can use at my wedding in March next year.
Id like to plant crocus in teacups (table decorations) and tulips in tall clay pots (for the ceremony).
Should I grow these outside and bring in for the day of the wedding? I fear the warmth inside may make them wilt?

Alternatively I could force grow them inside but it would be tricky to get the timing right?

Any thoughts/suggestions welcome.

Hi @Joanne_smith100- I think it's always a bit tricky with timings, as the weather and your growing conditions can vary so much - especially in spring.
March is quite early for a lot of tulips, but you could experiment with some undercover, and some outdoors. There are species tulips which are flowering at that time, but they tend to be smaller, although there are some taller varieties too. You could look at some of the specialist sites for ideas. I'm assuming you might have a colour scheme in mind too?
The crocus will be easy - just plant lots and lots of small pots up with them, keep them outdoors, and transfer the day before or thereabouts. The big white Joan of Arc ones are slightly later than the usual purples, yellows etc, but again, you might need to have lots of extras to hand. Your cups will have no drainage, so make sure they're damp, and they should be fine for a day or two.

Try and source plastic pots that will slip unobtrusively into your tall clay pots and tea-cups, and plant your bulbs in those. Then you can plant way more than you will need but allowing for trial and error in terms of which ones are performing on the day.

Plant three times as many as you think you need, put some outside, some under cover. If they are coming on too fast, move them out. Too slow, move them into warmth. Have a back up plan.

Narcissus would be a much better choice than Tulips for March.

Agree with @fidgetbones abut having a back up plan. Two would be better.

Agree also with @punkdoc and @Fairygirl about daffs and tulips. If you're not an experienced grower with warm and cold rooms to hand for bringing on and slowing down you'll likely fail to get tulips for March.

Don't try growing things in teacups. They'll struggle. Grow in pots and then present them in teacups or, better still, just tie ribbons round the pots to pretty them up.

I think it would be almost impossible to grow crocus in small enough pots to then fit into a teacup, and get any kind of display.
It might be worth thinking of doing them in small terracotta pots, which you could paint/decorate etc. YOu can get all sorts of sizes in G.Centres. They could then be given as a gift to guests etc. That would be inexpensive too, bearing in mind you need to grow plenty

I appreciate there's a reason you will want to use teacups though
