Hi Alison, I planted Susie in the end and looking forward to seeing the first flower open :)
It's the rose on the left of the photo. Have you a photo of your Simple Life you can share, please? I'm afraid I've only just started to train it into some kind of shape. Should have done this before it started straggling everywhere. Perhaps I should have pruned it :/

Rachel, yes indeed I went to Harkness Roses near Hitchin as not too far away when I bought the rose. So many to pick from!

Interesting to read about their new "outlet" in Bedfordshire. Unfortunately,  probably a little too far to travel, although I did very recently see their collection at Vanstone Park Garden Centre near Codicote, a bit closer to home. Although I actually came away with a Timeless Cream and a Timeless Purple rose which are looking so healthy and promising.

First photo shows The Simple Life now. This did have quite a few flowers last year  and they were beautiful, although as rock_hen has pointed out https://forum.gardenersworld.com/discussion/comment/2244385#Comment_2244385  when windy it tends to lose its petals quite easily. I'm hoping I haven't completely spoilt it by not pruning it before.

    So delectable!
