Planting out hydrangeas

I’ve got a few hydrangea’s in outside pots that are now getting a bit large. Is now a good time to plant them into borders in the garden or should I wait until Spring? Any advice of how best to do this to make sure they come back in full flower next year?

    I would do that now, they are very tough old plants.  When you say large, how large? I’ve got some in pots here that I did from cutting a few years ago and they stay out all winter no protection.

    As long as you haven't any difficult weather coming up in the next few days, you can plant out. Prep the new hole well  :)

    Some of them are 12/15 years old and have been in pots all that time. They do really well but I just felt that this year they seemed too big for the pots!

    They might be a bit pot bound - if they are, just tease the roots out a little before replanting  :)
