Compost bin

I have a small back yard I live in Qatar Middle East. I want to know if I can use a old canvas washing basket ( it's not 100% waterproof) as a compost bin it has a fabric net drawstring on the top so air can get out would this work as an outside compost bin?

    Hello @nadineherselman 😊 and welcome to the forum. 

    As canvas is a natural fabric it will rot down quite quickly alongside the composting materials. In fact natural fabrics (cotton, linen, wool etc) are all suitable for including in a compost heap. So no, I think you need something more substantial to contain your compost.
