    I've just read your previous post, @B3.  You're right, of course - and maybe I'm changing the feeding habits of the magpies as well, by providing them with readily-accessible goldfinches.   :/
    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    It was entertaining today to watch a rook pulling clumps of moss out of the lawn, presumably looking for invertebrates.  It was followed by a starling, collecting up the moss to line its nest.   :)
