Ananas Leaves Splitting

Can somebody help explain why there are these splits occurring in the leaves of my ananas.

I'd be grateful for any help!

    I cut the ends off several leaves that had fungus

    Bromeliads like it warm and steamy. If they are in too dry an atmosphere they may split. Try standing it in a warm place on top of a saucer filled with pebbles and water, and stand the pot on that.  Give it a fine misting with water occasionally.
