Tried francoa twice in my lastgarden and it was just too nesh. Shrubby euonymous with variegtaed leaves does well here in dry shade but never liked the cold and damp in my last. Epimedium already mentioned tho I had to move the one survivor of dry shade here to somewhere a mite more moist and it's doing well now. That didn't like my last garden either.
