Sorry I omitted a way to tell if your Grandson ( or anyone's child) has access to a free MSoffice suite through the school/education authority .

Go to https://office.com  and enter your child's school provided email address ( if they have one) If they do and the email account used allows you to login you can download a free copy of MSoffice from this account.

grandson Got a new pc do his school homework he is only at junior school .other than office  does anyone know if a free app he can download like Microsoft word ,are there anymore .Microsoft word ha s  to be paid for now I think
His school probably gets Word for free.

These days you don’t need to download anything, your grandson just logs into the website his school provides and he can use Word, Excel and PowerPoint online without downloading anything.

Word Online is available to anyone, for free. You just need a Microsoft account.
