Great, just deadheaded them and taken a couple of cuttings, so might (?) be able to add to them next year.  New to doing cuttings but watched GW and followed what they said. So fingers crossed.   Should cuttings be ready for planting next autumn?

Really appreciate all the advice, it has certainly give me confidence to try things.

I've never done cuttings - only division, but it's always good to try new things.  :)
They'd probably still be quite small plants this time next year, but you never know.
It's one of those things where you make a judgement based on your own growing conditions. If they're still small plants - ie, in a 3 or 4 inch pot, it would be safer to pot on and leave till the following spring. If you've got them into a bigger pot by late summer and they're putting on good growth, you could plant out.
If you;re unsure, don't be frightened to come back and ask - with a photo or two, and people will offer their advice  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I've had them in gardens and once planted, never eradicated. Like bindweed and ground elder, every bit of root left behind will turn into a new plant.

Great.  Thanks Fairygirl, I will do as you suggest and see what they are like next year.  I seem to do OK with cuttings, but they struggle when I plant then and looking at what you have said I think I plant them too soon, while they are still too small.  Will have to learn a little (or a lot) of patience.  Will come back with photos if I am not sure.

Encourage Hostafan that they grow well.

    Thanks again
