What are these?

Hello All,

Can you tell me what these are?
They are in a pot of mint which has done wonderfully well for years, this year nowt. It was placed to one side and going to be dispatched when I found them. Are they harmfull? If so, how do I get rid?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Rgds Russ

Can’t see them that well but could be vine weevil.

Beetle grubs, probably one of the chafers. They do some damage to plant roots but personally I like the beetles. You can rebury them somewhere that they can't do too much harm or put them on the bird feeder and give a bird a treat.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
