I would like to plant a cordaline in the ground (now in large pot) with pea gravel up to the trunk, is this ok. Cheers Taffy.

    Sounds good. Do you mean using the gravel as a mulch to prevent the neck/main stem from getting too wet?
    I always think it's better to make sure the ground you plant into is well drained, and you can mix grit or fine gravel into it to help with that if your ground's a bit heavy  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    We have them and yuccas planted into the shingle (pea gravel) in our front garden, to add interest, all doing very well.  Shame I dont have the facilities to put a pictue on here.
