    I am short-sighted but always take my glasses off when I use binoculars, as even with the wider front lenses I find they just get in the way. Trying before you buy is a good move though.

    Not relevant, I know, but have others noted that in films when the director wants to show that the scene is being viewed through binoculars, a binocular-like blackout appears which does not happen in real life. Likewise, if someone is upside down, the image is upside down but that doesn’t happen either. The brain adjusts the image to put it the right way up.

    If you have a London Camera Exchange shop near you, they often have a wide range of binoculars, and knowledgeable staff.
