    Welcome to the forum.
TBH I think they're best grown fresh each spring.
Maybe you could lift it and keep it indoors , frost free for winter?
I don't think it'd survive winter, even in the mildest parts of UK.
I bought plants for £1.49 in Spring, which is less than you'd spend of fleece ,and certainly less hassle.

  • Many thanks Hostafan. U r correct. Its a tropical variety therefore not hardy. I will resow in spring.

I've heard that the seed benefit from an overnight soaking in cold tea before sowing . There was a member of the Forum who knew EVERYTHING  about chillies, but she's not posted in a long time.
