I do that for my big containers too @Hostafan1 mixing garden compost with potting compost, adding some grit if necessary when filling containers and troughs. The only thing I find with garden compost is the level of the filling drops an inch or two after a while, so topping up with more mix is necessary.
I mix garden soil with garden compost for large pots, don't use much potting compost, mainly for hanging baskets and small pots kept in the glasshouse, and of course growbags for tomatoes.
I'd agree @philippa smith2- two different products as @Hostafan1 says. Using spent compost at the bottom of large pots does a good job, when planting annuals or similar. You only need a decent amount of new stuff at the top for most plants.
It's a handy medium for cuttings too, when you don't really need a lot of food for them.
