    😁
I’m trying to find out whether Vitax Q4 contains the stuff, but no luck so far.
The mess they make is unbelievable. Dug uo several smaller plants and many of the bulbs I planted in September too. Not impressed.

If the bulbs are  eaten, or have disappeared completely, it's likely to be squirrels.

It’s so hard to tell, because I only planted tiny bulbs like snowdrops and fritillaria, that are almost impossible to distinguish against the mulch!
Also, they’ve dug plenty in areas with no bulbs, so I’m a bit stumped...
Maybe I just need to installa camera! It only happens at night too, I should mention, which I suppose would make foxes likely, rather than squirrels.

If you have a camera, it's worth doing. They'll probably sneak round the back of it though...  ;)

We have exactly the same type of holes in the same position and we mulched with spent mushroom compost. The holes got wider and wider and we were fed up with clearing up every day so we placed some old bits of paving over the area that was being dug and whoopee- no more digging. I'm sure it's foxes, the holes are far too big and numerous for squirrels and there are no badgers around. In terms of geography we are quite near you. Good luck !

Problem solved! I got an ultrasonic scarer and it is doing its job well.
It was foxes too - saw them as they were digging, when I was up at 3am one night, unable to sleep!
Now I can underplanted my little amelanchier with cyclamen and ass more spring bulbs around, without them all being dug up again overnight 😁
