OH uses a strimmer on ours but no path edge there. However, he used it on our garden in Belgium and that had a sleeper edge round one long, curved side and then stones round another. Worked well.

That photo shows the concave/convex shape along the length of the blade well. That's why I don't find it great for use to cut back grass around paving. I do find a half moon edger works OK but there is definitely a technique when working along the edge of slabs. I practiced enough on the 30+ slabs laid into my lawn!
