Not sure @Victoria Sponge the angle shades caterpillars look less 'defined' in their markings, and chunkier [correct term ] but I'm not any kind of expert either
We certainly have those in the garden though, but I usually only see them when they're green.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I have the chunky brown form, I saw one the other day on an aster and assumed it was an angle shade. I just read they over winter which would explain why I often see them on later flowers.
Just checked the link provided by Alan Clark and Hexagon's specimen seems to have the side stripe too...
