Thank you Obelixx, but I feel it's time I stopped looking in on the forum. The genuine nuggets of interest and advice are getting somewhat overgrown with weeds! I am old-fashioned, it's as simple as that. Back to the bookshelf for me.
    But happy gardening, to everyone.
  • Oh my goodness this poor little creature has caused a lot of trouble,
Please don't leave this great forum, just try very hard and ignore them, these disrupted folk find it more annoying to be ignored.
Think about it, if you post something and get no response, it's a bit upsetting,
    So don't leave, ignore

@Mossbank- It takes quite a lot for me to defend myself - and other people - in straight terms. I've bitten my tongue more times than I care to remember in the six years I've been contributing. I think most people who know me here, have a fair idea of what I'm like, as @Obelixx has said.
I'm getting slightly fed up with some of the stirring that goes on  unchecked on the forum too. These people would have been shown the door a long time ago on most forums.  :)

Apologies @widgetwilk ann that your nice thread has been spoiled by people who are like a dog with a bone.

I always thought it was Irn Bru.  Or was that an attempt at irony  :D
It is, and I doubt it.... ;)
    Vile stuff. Worse than alcohol.
I'll no doubt 'get pelters' for that now.... ;)
Would be nice to have EHMoths here. I live in hope, but I'm not growing fuchsias at any price  :D

Humph!  I have fuchsias and no EHMs!   Maybe I should nick some valerian seeds form the roadsides when I see them and chuck some at the gravel patch.

Perhaps it's like the goldfinch thing @Obelixx - if you buy nyger seed, and the special feeder for it,  they ignore it, but that's what they're supposed to like best! Instead they wolf down sunflower hearts.
While sticking two fingers [or claws]  up at us....  ;)

That will certainly do the trick if my slate drive is anything to go by.  The seeds blow in and grow happily in nothing but 2" of slate chippings on top of membrane.  I seem to be forever pulling them up but usually leave a few at the boundary.

PS - Iron Bru ??  I always thought it was Irn Bru.  Or was that an attempt at irony  :D
Do you mean irny? Or is that getting too close to txt spk again? :#
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
