Ours in it’s early stage. August 2014 And 2 years later. June 16. make sure you get a nice lot of plants around the edges, creatures like places to hide in. Dragonfly nymphs need to climb up reeds and grasses to dry out before flying away.
And 2018 gone very wildlife😀
We’ve just pulled out a load of oxygenation weed, and some of the reeds, wasn’t any room for creatures😀
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
The site that I was thinking of is what I assume was soil removes to make paths, patio and maybe a bit of levelling off a slight incline. There are low 2' - 2' 6" walls on three sides. The pond would be towards a corner of this area but away from the walls. I'm wondering if I would be better siting it in a nearby area where we would dig entirely into the natural ground level. The pond would then need to be oval or rectangular as the area available is much narrower -probably about 6ft wide by about 20ft . I don't want a canal!
