Must be the season, found one on the path the other day and then fished one out of the pond yesterday.
  • It is an Elephant Hawk Moth Caterpiller, in defence mode, stand back and let it revert to its normal shape.
  • Thank you all for letting me know what this strange little fella was, for something so scary looking it turns into a beautiful moth.
    Nature is wonderful.
P.s I wasn’t to sure about the yellow globule either.
  • Don't know what the yellow globule is, I have several photos of that caterpillar, from home and from the Parc Slip nature reserve at Tondu, South Wales.
