    Caterpillar for the elephant hawk moth.  Treasure.
    Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

    Must be the season, found one on the path the other day and then fished one out of the pond yesterday.

    It is an Elephant Hawk Moth Caterpiller, in defence mode, stand back and let it revert to its normal shape.

    Thank you all for letting me know what this strange little fella was, for something so scary looking it turns into a beautiful moth. 
    Nature is wonderful. 
    P.s I wasn’t to sure about the yellow globule either.

    Don't know what the yellow globule is, I have several photos of that caterpillar, from home and from the Parc Slip nature reserve at Tondu, South Wales.
