What is this please?

I've just bought this from the local plant sale. The label says eryngium, the lady at the stall said it has daisy flowers, but when I googled eryngium the flowers look like blue thistles. Please can someone tell me where it would be happy-sun or shade, and if there are two plants with the same name? Thank you!

    It might be Erigeron, which does have daisy-like flowers.

    Yes I agree Erigeron.
    This is mine in a pot, it looked like yours when I bought it about 18 months ago. Beautiful little plant I love it

    It does look like Erigeron. It likes well-drained soil and is supposed to prefer full sun, but it seeds around in all kinds of places here, sunny and shady (the soil is well-drained though).

    That looks really pretty @harmony I'm happy I bought it, especially as it was a bargain, I also bought two penstemons and a hesperantha for the grand total of £3.50 😊

    In Central Texas Erigeron is classed as a weed and it grows wild all over our rural property.  I love the stuff.  And as it survives Central Texas scorching summers, with no rain now for over 2 months now, it will tolerate any heat or drought Britain can dish out. :)  They are real troopers in drought.
