Pale grubs

Im digging holes in the lawn and unearthed a couple of these fellas so far.
Any idea if they are something I should protect or worry about?

This is under my main lawn, I’m planting conifers. The lawn has a lot of thatch if that’s relevant, and used to have a fair amount of moss.
😊
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I suppose there’s nothing I can do either way, in any case.
Had they been present in any quantity you would not have needed to dig holes in your grass (as the grubs would have destroyed the roots and it would be a loose mat!) so I wouldn't worry too much.
An infestation of them can bring in corvids and badgers in country areas, which can rip up the affected grassland or lawn, turning exasperated gardeners into carpet layers, day after day, after day, after day........
Like @Mossbank, I'd have said more likely to be chafers. Not something I've ever had though. If the grass is ok, I don't think you've got too big a problem.
Have you seen any crows/magpies etc getting stuck in? They love leatherjackets too.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
