Making tomatoes sweet

I was watching a TV show food unwrapped and it was said on the program that it you want very sweet tomatoes the feed them dissolvable asprin as they are growing and the tomatoes will be very sweet anyone tried this method and what was the result

    I think it's more about choosing good varieties.  I've got Rosella this year and they are probably the best-tasting tomato I've ever eaten.

    This year has been a good year for tomatoes. Does that make a difference to the taste or just the quantity?
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Both I think @B3 The more level heat/sun has had the desired affect and the harvest to date is up on last year.
