Palm tree

Can I pot up the shoot on this tree.

    It's neither a palm ,nor a tree, it's a Cordyline Australis .
    I'd say  no to potting up.

    To be fair, it's common name is "cabbage palm" but, as Hosta says, not a true palm and no to the potting up.

    Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

    I know there's a Pointy cabbage but yes, nothing like.  Have to wonder how some plants get their common names.

    closely related to asparagus, but not cabbage
