Container for leylandii castlewellan gold

Hi all,

I know these guys grow fast so I’m only hoping for a couple of years with this before it gets turned into a pergola or suchlike.

Hence Id like to keep it in a container - currently in the pot it came in (small bucket size), can I just give it a few centimeters more for a planter or do I need to expect the rootball to grow massively next year?
