Is this a quince or a pear tree

Hi.  This is an old, and recently shortened tree in my parents' garden in Lincolnshire.  What is it?  If it's a quince, as we suspect, then any idea what variety it is?  How should we store and use the fruit?

Pear but no idea which one.   Quince are very much more lumpy and bumpy and round-ish.

  • That looks like a pear to me.

  • Cutting it will give you a good idea too. Agree with the others...looks like a pear. If in doubt, taste 😉

  • I think this is a quince it has small Orange flowers before the fruit is formed
